#mepolitics: Harpswell Town Meeting debating on deputy moderator’s attempt to block amendment to remove 3 conditions from beach easement warrant article.

Deputy moderator Gordon Weil, a former selectman, says a proposed amendment by Michael Bourret, a Cedar Beach/Cedar Island Supporters member and a Bailey Island resident, to remove three conditions that must be satisfied before town can accept the Cedar Beach easement dead, is a substantive change and therefore should not be considered, because notice of the amendment was not given seven days in advance.

In response, residents at the Town Meeting have moved to overrule Weil’s attempt to block the amendment. Weil’s rejection of the amendment is supported by all three members of the Board of Selectmen.
